Oysters + Tuna + Squash
While at work on Wednesday, my co-worker, Lee, picked a bushel of oysters and brought them into the office to give away to anyone that wanted them. I couldn't pass them up.
Boiled Oysters
Oysters, washed.
1 box Zatarain's Crab Boil
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1/2 tablespoon butter
Salt & Pepper to taste
Cocktail Sauce
Fill your big pot up 3/4 of the way with water, add Crab Boil, lemon juice, butter and salt and pepper. Bring water to a boil and add your oysters. Boil for about 5-7 minutes, or until oyster shells open up. When done, take oysters out, place in a colander, and rinse. Put on a plate, grab some cocktail sauce, and voila! You now have an oyster supper :)
Yellow Fin Tuna Steak
2 Tuna Steaks
1 teaspoon garlic salt
1 teaspoon pepper
1 tablespoon olive oil
Score steaks, and rub with garlic salt and pepper. Heat up your pan on medium high heat, and add your olive oil. Place steak in pan (you should hear a sizzle when this happens) and cook on each side for about 30 seconds. Grab a pair of tongs, and sear the outside edges for about 10 seconds each. Take out of your pan, and place on a plate to let rest. This will cook your steaks to a rare temperature. Enjoy!
Sauteed Yellow Squash
1 yellow squash, sliced thin
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon pepper
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon olive oil
Heat up your pan on medium high heat with olive oil. After slicing your squash, place in the pan, and add your garlic powder and pepper. Cook on both sides for about 3-4 minutes, until the edges start to brown and crisp up. Take them out of the pan, place on a plate lined with a paper towel, and sprinkle your salt on them. Enjoy!
Hope y'all had a good weekend! :)
