DIY Creamy Chocolate Pudding
If you are a chocolate lover, then this recipe is definitely right up your alley. Those who know me know that I am an absolute chocolate fiend. Yesterday, I got home a little early and was looking for a sweet chocolately snack when I came across my Hershey's Baking Cocoa. This product can be used in many different recipes, one of them being Chocolate Pudding. This is a quick and simple recipe that makes about 4-6 servings of pudding, and can be kept in the refrigerator for up to a week (but I doubt it will last that long!).
What you need:
2/3 cup sugar
1/4 cup Hershey's Cocoa Powder
3 tablespoons cornstarch**
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 1/4 cups milk
2 tablespoons butter or margarine
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
(**If you do not have cornstarch, you may use double the amount of all purpose flour. I.E. 3 tablespoons cornstarch = 6 tablespoons flour)
Stir together your sugar, cocoa, cornstarch (flour), and salt in a medium saucepan on medium high heat.
Gradually stir in milk.
Cook over heat, stirring constantly, until mixture boils; Boil for 1 minute.
Remove from heat; stir in butter and vanilla.
Voila! Homemade chocolate pudding! (and it makes the house smell wonderful, too!)
Pour into individual serving dishes; serve warm or refrigerate for at least 2 hours. (**If you are not serving right away, press plastic wrap directly onto surface of pudding to avoid a skin forming on top)
This is a quick and easy snack or dessert for any occasion! Enjoy! :)
